New short story

Sometimes when you run away from the wrong man, you run straight into the right one…

Mallory McQueen had three reasons for going back to her hometown: helping her injured Gran out, presenting her award-winning chocolates at the country fair, and getting away from her cheating ex-fiance.

Her plan did not include car trouble, an unexpected bike accident, and a run-in with the gorgeous senior everyone had a crush on back in high school.

Ellis Taylor is even more handsome than he used to be—if that is even humanly possible—and he just so happens to find her in a ditch.

Dirty. Hurt. Completely humiliated.

But if anyone can turn this awful day around, it’s Ellis. Kind, considerate Ellis, who tends to her wounds, spills his heart out to her, and helps her get to the fair in time...

Sure, a man just broke her heart to pieces. But could another man put it back together?

“Love is the voice under all silences, the hope which has no opposite in fear; the strength so strong mere force is feebleness: the truth more first than sun, more last than star.”

Thoughts on Romance

“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.””

Pablo Neruda,

100 Love Sonnets

“Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love.”

William Shakespeare

 Hamlet
